James Dunn (Australian politician)


James Patrick Digger Dunn was an Englishborn Australian politician. Born in Liverpool, he received a primary education before migrating to Australia in 1903, where he became a miner and shearer. He was an organiser with the Australian Workers Union and the Sydney VicePresident of the Iron Trades Federation. He served in the military 19151919. In 1928, he was elected to the Australian Senate for New South Wales, as a member of the Labor Party. In the 1931 Labor split, Dunn joined the Lang Labor group. He contested the 1934 election under this heading but was defeated. He died in 1945.
